Lake Eufaula is the largest man-made lake in Oklahoma and covers 102,000 acres of shimmering water and breathtaking scenery. Lake Eufaula lies 63 miles west of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and 110 miles east of Oklahoma City, just south of the Ozark Mountain foothills in eastern Oklahoma. Lake Eufaula is home to wonderful swim beaches, fishing, watersports, and abundant wildlife with marvelous parks and campgrounds.
Lake Eufaula State Parks
Lake Eufaula has two Oklahoma State Parks, Arrowhead State Park and Lake Eufaula State Park. Arrowhead State Park is on the southern side of the lake at 3995 Main Park Road Canadian, Oklahoma. Lake Eufaula State Park is on the northern side of the lake, at 111563 OK 150, Checotah, Oklahoma. Both parks have wonderful amenities and offer great camping, day-use, fishing, are pet friendly, swimming, and watersports experiences.
Visitors will enjoy RV and tent camping, The Fountain Head Creek Golf Course, an 18-hole golf course with views of the lake, a putting green, and a pro shop. Amenities include an indoor and outdoor fishing dock, group facilities, hiking and nature trails, a kid's fishing pond, naturalist activities and naturalist programs, a nature center, playgrounds, picnic areas, swimming beaches, and watersports. Three sides of the lake surround Lake Eufaula State Park.
The park features special events at Halloween, Christmas, and Labor Day. This park was previously named Fountainhead State Park before 2003. Lake Eufaula State Park sits atop a large peninsula that stretches out from the northeastern border of the lake from SH 150 going south from I40 east of Checotah.
Choose from 93 RV or tent sites at the Deep Fork Campground or 32 RV sites at the Dogwood Campground and make online reservations for your camping destination. Several amenities are ADA accessible. For a unique overnight accommodation, book a stay in one of the park’s three yurts, which come with heat/ac, bedding, a microwave, mini fridge, electrical outlets and an LED TV, but no indoor water.
However, restroom facilities are located within 50 yards of the Longhorn Loop and Hummingbird Beach yurts, and 1000 yards from the Longhorn Loop Honeymoon yurt. Pets are not allowed inside yurts. The group camp features a fully equipped kitchen, dining hall, stocked pond and four air-conditioned bunkhouses that accommodate up to 96 people.
Arrowhead State Park
Arrowhead State Park sits on 2,200 acres and features 100 tent sites and RV sites. There are 40 full hookup sites available. The park offers an equestrian campground and stables with 25 miles of trails, a golf course, a marina, a miniature golf course, mountain biking, picnic areas and shelters, playgrounds, swimming area, stables, and trails.
The Arrowhead Golf Course features an 18-hole course, a pro shop, driving range, putting green, and cart and club rentals. This full-service 72-par course provides a spectacular view of the lake from two holes on the course.
The equestrian camp also offers hitching posts and water and electric hookups. The RV sites have 30 and 50-amp hookups and a dump station with restrooms and showers throughout the park. There is a restaurant onsite. Hiking and biking trails offer wildlife viewing opportunities. A volleyball court sits on the beach.

Belle Starr Corps of Engineers RV Park: 111 spacious and shady sites. Each site is has 30 or 50-amp electric, water hookups, a picnic table, and grill. Amenities include a boat ramp, two comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers, two dump stations, fishing, a playground, and swimming beach. Belle Star Road, Eufaula, Oklahoma.
Broken Cove Recreation Area: 73 RV and tent sites, 30 and 50-amp hookups and shared water connections. A 100 foot water line with a splitter is recommended for RVs. Crowder Point Family Campground: 22 tent sites with lake views, and 24 RV sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric and water hookups, 5 with electric, water, and sewer hookups, and 6 with electric only, nearby boat ramps, pet-friendly, restrooms, showers. Lake Eufaula, Alabama
Lake Eufaula, on the border of southwest Alabama and southeast Georgia, is a different lake than Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma, covers 45,181 acres with 640 miles of shoreline, and is located on the Chattahoochee River along the border of Georgia and southeast Alabama. This lake is also commonly known as Walter F. George Lake. The Walter F. George Dam forms this lake.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers owns and operates Lake Eufaula. The Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge is located on the northern end of the lake, along with several parks and campgrounds on both sides of the lake. A system of buoys and daymarks is in place throughout the lake to mark the main navigable channel. Anyone with a valid fishing license from either state can fish the entire lake.
